The Boys of Bluehill Tutorial

The Boys of Bluehill is a simple melodic hornpipe that lends easily to ornamentation and is a great tune to use for teaching beginner musicians and introducing them to the specific hornpipe rhythm. It’s a tune that is very well known for being played for the accompaniment of Irish dancers. It has been included in over a 1,000 tune books and has been given various different names down through the years such as The Lads of North Tyne and The beaux of Oak Hill.
